Medically necessary care knows no boundaries
The House of Representatives has passed a bill that criminalises helping people without valid residence papers. This directly goes against the oath we took as GPs. This is why we are speaking out. Providing care can never be punishable. GPs are ready for anyone in need. Always.
To oppose the proposed changes, as a general practice we are joining The nationwide protest action 'Medically necessary care knows no borders'. The action is a joint initiative of LHV, InEen, NHG, Lovah and VPHuisartsen.
With this action, we aim to achieve the following:
- Showing that this bill puts healthcare professionals in an impossible position.
- Send a clear message to the Senate: do not pass this bill.
