Positive Health

Health means something different to everyone. For example, for you it may simply mean having no symptoms, while someone else may feel healthy despite a chronic condition. So health is not just about the absence of disease, but also about how well you can adapt to changes in your body and life.

Health affects everything: your work, sports, social contacts and daily activities. Everyone has their own goals and is looking for a way to live a healthy life. Those who strengthen their resilience feel better and take more control of their lives.

What is important to you may be different from what a GP or healthcare provider expects. This is why an open conversation is so important. Positive Health looks at health more broadly. It is not just about medical complaints, but also about self-efficacy, happiness and how you function on a daily basis. How do you feel? Can you participate in society the way you want to? Together, we look at what is important to you and what you need to live as healthily as possible.

Caregivers Positive Health

Many care providers in the Amstelland region work with the Positive Health philosophy and are trained in conducting Positive Health interviews. This is conducted using the six dimensions of Positive Health: bodily functions, mental wellbeing, meaning, quality of life, participation and daily functioning. Using the spider web will determine which topic to move forward with.

The spider's web

The Positive Health spiderweb helps you map out how you experience your health. It is a useful tool for discussions with your GP, nurse practitioner, dietician or physiotherapist. After all, health is about more than just medical care; it is also about fitness, independence and social connectedness. By discussing together what is important to you, we look for suitable options.

Retrieved from www.mijnpositievegezondheid.nl you can fill in a short questionnaire. This will give you a personal spider web: an overview showing how you score on the six dimensions of health. The closer to the outer edge, the better you feel in that area. This gives you instant insight into your health and well-being.
